Ivano-Frankivsk Open 2011 Report

On 18-20 November 2011 in Ivano-Frankivsk was held 2nd Tournament in Taekwon-Do ITF Ivano-Frankivsk Open. Ivano-Frankivsk is one of 24 regional centers of Ukraine, 350 000 population, 200 km. to the border with Poland, 300 to Hungary.

On the competitions took part 300 athletes from 11 regional centers of Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia.

Competitions were held from one type of program TKD sparring: individual and team sparring in two divizions: divizion A - blue belt and above and divizion B - white-green belts.

Chief umpire of competitions was Oleg Petrovsky from Kharkiv umpire of international category A, 7th dan ITF.

Competitions were held under the patronage of the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Victor Anushkevychus.

The opening ceremony were present guests of honor:
President All Ukrainian Taekwondo Union, Mr. Alexander Ignatenko,
Vice president of All Ukrainian Taekwon-Do Union Mr. Valentin Zorba,
Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional administration of sport Mr. Myroslav Karabin,
Head of Ivano-Frankivsk City Sports Committee Vitaly Mateshko,
Deputy Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Mychailo Veres.

During the competition was held the Congress of All-Ukrainian Taekwon-Do Union where was established a working team for the European Championship of Taekwon-do ITF in 2013 in Kiev.

Next 3rd International Tournament of Ivano-Frankivsk Open planned on 09-11 November 2012.
